Sleek And Beautiful
Ports We Have Them
That Glow Means Quality
Let’s look at the MacBook Air. For those who still use the ports (and yes that’s most of us) the MacBook Air has ports. A standard USB port is a standard for most laptops still being manufactured today. Almost any external device supports USB and we almost always back-up our files on a USB drive. I still use a USB drive myself. I feel a “but” coming on here, but, do we really need to use a USB drive anymore?
I love my MacBook Air, I really do. It has enough power and that Apple logo that glows on the back of the screen is truly a statement that makes people realize it’s an Apple. The Air is a little outdated when it comes to the screen, the keyboard, and now the trackpad as well. The price of the device is a huge selling point for those who want a MacBook but don’t want to pay the premium prices demanded by Apple. I honestly found my MacBook Air for $500 at a local pawnshop.
This past week I went to BestBuy and saw that the brand new Air is offered at $749 and thought to myself that Apple must just want to keep it around for a quick buck. The screen as I mentioned above, is not the Retina display Apple so rightfully brags about in all of its advertisements, but is still a great screen. The trackpad (though not the force touch trackpad) is still an amazingly accurate trackpad that has a true high class feel when using it. The reviews on the new “Butterfly mechanism” keyboards on the MacBook Retina and MacBook Pro are split. I’ve noticed you either love it or hate it. I love it. The Air doesn’t have this type of keyboard so for those who have tried and didn’t like the new keyboard, then the Air is for you.
Would I steer anyone away from buying a new MacBook Air? No, I would still recommend this computer for anyone who wants a new MacBook. I would recommend this computer to anyone who needs a computer for school, work, or even just an around the house family computer. The MacBook Air is still just as stunning and efficient as it ever was. Some articles complain about the fact that Apple hasn’t updated this computer in a few years, but I feel like there is a reason for this, it doesn’t need updated. My MacBook Air is in fact a “2014” model and it does an excellent job at everyday tasks. Don’t fix what doesn’t need fixed, right?
