2020 iPad Pro as a True Daily Driver?

Image
Well it’s time to look at what (after 11 years) still has the computing world in an argument. Can iPad Pro replace your laptop or desktop. I for one have a personal choice as do so many others out there in the tech world.  For me I do use both devices. I have a 2018 MacBook Pro 15 inch 16 GBs RAM and i7 Processor with 500 GBs flash storage. I use a 1 TB SeaGate HDD that I store all of my YouTube and business videos on. I also have the 2020 11 inch iPad Pro base model with 6 GBs RAM and 128 GBs Flash storage. Each device is great for my use but I have had a tendency to grab my iPad for more everyday uses until recently. More on that in a bit. Let’s take a look at what most people actually do with a PC. Web browsing and social media take up most of my friends time. FaceBook and TikTok have become the go to sites for leisure and fun while others tend to try to do more creative tasks. I am one of those who tries to be creative. I tend to spend time filming videos, taking

Week 2 iPad Pro VS MacBook Pro Test ONN Wireless EarBuds Review

Image
Ok so here we are, week two of my little iPad Pro VS MacBook Pro for creatives test... Wow, last week was awful. I did everything I could think of to make last weeks video at least halfway decent but failed miserably. This week I have managed to pull off a miracle in the human technology world. I used an external microphone, an iPhone 11, and LumaFusion editing software and managed to make a watchable review of the ONN Wireless Earbuds. These earbuds come from Wal-Mart and last time I checked they sold for $19. These earbuds are honestly not that bad for the price. Of course I wouldn’t recommend them over Apple AirPods but then again they cost around $110 less. These particular earbuds have a good sound quality, pair with your phone easily, and pair to each other automatically. They take all the guess work out of set up. As mentioned in the video, the left bud tends to lose signal occasionally but for the price, who cares. Although I didn’t mention it in the video I can listen fo

IPad Pro or MacBook Pro For College 2020

There is NO time like NOW to begin looking around the stores for school supplies. New clothes and shoes, maybe some paper and pens, and of course some technology. But wait.... as you look over the giant sea of tablets and laptops you may become overwhelmed by the huge selection. No problem. Just head over to the local apple store and pick up an iPad or MacBook. In this video I compare the two devices to help you decide if one triumphs over the other for your needs this fall. Both are excellent choices of course but the iPad can be a scanner, camera, note taker, web browser, notebook, art canvas, instrument, studio, and more. The MacBook is a powerhouse for pro level photo editing, video editing, and other desktop exclusive software. The MacBook is also a great machine for typing up documents or papers and conducting research for those papers just like the iPad. Hopefully this look into daily use of each device helps you sort out those confused feelings about what may be in your b

Is The 2020 iPad Pro a Laptop Replacement

Image
I recently went out to my local iPad and iPhone store (US Cellular) with the intent to purchase the iPad Air 3rd generation but found myself leaving with the latest and greatest Apple tablet available. Now I’m not sure how this happened except for my unquestionable, unquenchable, and undeniable desire  to buy Apple products. I will admit that I LOVE Apple. Some people watch football, others get tattoos, while some love cars, me, I’m an Apple guy. My wife says I’m addicted and I have to admit, the argument is leaning in her favor. However, the new iPad Pro of the year 2020 is at first glance a device of beauty. Like the 2018 iPad we have a more squared off edge look and rounded corners. The pencil again charges magnetically while not in use and the ASK 2020 is available and works fine on the 2018 also. Of course you could spring for the new magic floating keyboard for a bit over $300 (I did NOT) so the device sits elevated above the keyboard. Just a hint here but the 2018 iPad Pro wil

IPad Pro For Video Creation

Looking back at the post about iPad Pro use for creatives I decided to take a stronger look into iMovie. Since even a $300-$400 entry level iPad can run iMovie without any trouble and this software is free, anyone can be creative on a budget. The software comes with some great effects for creating movies, presentations, trailers, and more. The titles effects and chroma key are easy to learn and use as well as the interface is user friendly to navigate. The iPad comes with the Apple iWork Suite of software like Pages, Numbers. and Keynote. These are all equivalents to the Office Suite form Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. However, many don’t realize that Apple also gives users the creative apps of GarageBand and iMovie for free as well. Buying and iPad for under $400 and having all this great software including the updates, iOS now known as iPadOS is a great value. Today using all this software including mouse support and keyboard with an Apple Pencil truly makes a huge differ

iPad Pro For Creatives

So lets talk iPad Pro. With Apple introducing the 2020 iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard it brings up the question “What about my older iPad Pro?” As you can see in the picture I still use an older 2017 10.5 iPad Pro with Apple Smart Keyboard, Apple Pencil, and a Bluetooth Mouse. This is still a great iPad Pro. I use this iPad Pro to edit video in iMovie, Adobe Rush, and LumaFusion as well as editing pictures in Affinity Photo, Pixelmator Photo, and Adobe Lightroom. The speed of the iPad Pro is still fast and never have I hit the threshold. I can spit out great looking photos and videos in minutes as well as attend meetings on Zoom, FaceTime, and attend classes for Full Sail University all from my iPad.  My wife and I went out the other day to grab a few pics at a local park. As you can see these images are very well done and all done with iPad Pro. Me sitting on a picnic table My wife and I taking a selfie.  As far as video editing is concerned you can check o
